2000 bmw 323 i wagon

hey guys i have a question,ive got a 2000 i with 210k awsome condition.problem is that sometimes when i drive on interstate the yellow triangle light (above the milage in the in the center) will come on and the car wont pull... out of the gear or so, so i pulled to the side put it in Park then put it in Drive again and drove home. whats that light mean and what is my problem. thanx to ya'll ...
