Electrolux Kelvinator Split System troubleshooting

I have an Electrolux Kelvinator Split System air conditioner that has stopped working and all the lights on the display on the front of the indoor unit are flashing (timer, auto, power & defrost). I've tried turning it off and on at the main switch and it starts working again, but only for a short time then the same thing happens again. I can't work out how to get to the air filter to see if it needs cleaning? Can the front panel of the unit be removed? How?...
