Using the Auto setting on the TH6000

The thermostat is set to Auto mode but I don't understand how the cool/heat settings work. I know there should be a 3-degree difference between the heat & cool settings. Should the cool setting be the temp at which the a/c comes on, and the heat setting be the temp at which the furnace comes on?...

Air cond.

The air conditioning won't turn on, the cool just keeps flashing and that been that way for 30 minutes...

adaptive intelligent recovery

Can this thermostat be used without this feature? I would like the unit to just come on and begin warming from the time that I set rather than it come on hours before I get up in the morning....
